Outstanding dining experience. As a vegan, I’m often limited to a couple of uninspired menu options, but Mottai was a pleasant surprise. Our sever Cameron and the GM Jorge were knowledgeable, accommodating, and very happy to guide me through several delicious plant-based dishes that were beautifully presented and full of flavor. Nothing felt like an afterthought. The Chef stood by the table to say hello. Nice touch. My wife Dina, thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well, and the service was warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. If you’re looking for an upscale Japanese restaurant in Coral Gables that takes vegan dining seriously without sacrificing creativity or quality, Mottai is absolutely worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back.

Mottai is a wonderful new addition to the Coral Gables dining scene. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by an elegant, beautifully designed space and a genuinely warm, attentive staff that makes you feel right at home. The food is outstanding. The Black Garlic Chicken was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The sushi rolls were exceptionally fresh, with high-quality ingredients that really stood out. To finish, don't miss the Mango Chawanmushi—it was a unique and delicious dessert that was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. If you're looking for excellent Japanese cuisine, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding service, Mottai is definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be back!

The food and the service are excellent. The fish is fresh and the food in general is very flavorful. I highly recommend the crab roll, the famous rice with vegetables and mushrooms, the bowl of shrimps and the butter clams. The meat is also good. As a desert my favorite was the tropical with coconut. The deco is casual elegant. Valet parking with more reasonable prices in the hotel rather than in the main valet. $50 in the hotel if you want to park in the front and $100 in the main one.

My wife and I visited Mottai Miami over the weekend for a date night, and overall we had a great experience. Our reservation was at 9:45 PM. Parking can be a little confusing if it’s your first time visiting, but the easiest option is to use the valet located across the street at the hotel. Once we arrived, the hostess seated us promptly. The reason I’m giving Mottai four stars instead of five is because of the seating arrangement for parties of two. On busy weekends, couples are seated in a long shared booth with small tables placed very close together. While the concept is stylish, it doesn’t offer much privacy, and you are seated extremely close to the guests next to you. If you’re looking for a more intimate date-night setting, this setup can feel a bit awkward. That said, the food was excellent. Portions are on the smaller side and designed for sharing, but everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the Chef Nigiri Special and the crab roll, both of which were outstanding. We also shared the steak and rice, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cocktails were very good and consistent throughout the evening. Our server was attentive,

Update: Mottai has a beautiful setting, and after our first visit, we decided to return and give the restaurant another opportunity. This time, we experienced something completely different, and I would like to emphasize how outstanding the service was. The staff was attentive, professional, and truly elevated the entire dining experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and as mentioned before, the décor and ambiance are beyond exceptional. The restaurant offers a stunning atmosphere that truly stands out. We were very delighted to dine there again and had a truly pleasant experience from beginning to end. After visiting many restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that this is one of the best restaurants Miami has to offer. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Mottai as a first-class dining destination in Miami — and honestly, one of the best restaurant experiences internationally as well.
